The office that asked for it decides the format. Some embassies want their own form, signed at the embassy. Abu Dhabi has its own judicial authority, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. Its service manual says notary applications are made on the ADJD website, and the meeting with the notary is held remotely. Your Abu Dhabi tenancy contract, usually registered through Tawtheeq, is the common proof of accommodation. Our affidavit of support service starts from AED 600. Abu Dhabi residents meet two differences from Dubai. The notarial step follows Abu Dhabi's own judicial system, and several embassies that handle these documents are in Abu Dhabi itself, as the capital. Both change where you sign. 01 ## Step 1: Ask who wants the affidavit and in what form Before anything is drafted, find out who asked for the affidavit and what they said. Write down the exact name they used for the document. An embassy that names a document of its own, such as an affidavit of support guaranteeing the visitor's costs, usually means its own form. A foreign immigration office that asks for "proof of support" may accept a UAE notarised affidavit. The name tells you where it must be signed. Checklist ## Step 2: Gather your Abu Dhabi documents Most authorities want the same evidence, in Abu Dhabi versions: your passport and Emirates ID, with your residence visa; a salary certificate from your employer, or your trade licence if you own a business; recent bank statements; your tenancy contract, usually registered through Tawtheeq, or your title deed; the visitor's passport copy; a birth or marriage certificate if the visitor is family. The affidavit names you and the visitor exactly as your passports show, states your relationship, the dates and the purpose of the visit, and lists what you will pay for: accommodation, living costs, medical costs and the return ticket. It includes your undertaking that the visitor will leave before their visa expires, and a list of the documents attached. For an embassy form, we do not replace the form. We prepare every detail you will need to fill it in correctly, and check that the details match your attachments. ## Step 4: Sign before the right person There are two routes. ### Before a notary in Abu Dhabi The affidavit is signed before a notary, who verifies your identity from your Emirates ID or passport, checks your capacity and consent, and administers the oath. ### At the visitor's embassy Where the embassy requires its own form, you sign it before the consular officer there. Many embassies in the UAE are in Abu Dhabi, which makes this route shorter for Abu Dhabi residents than for Dubai residents. ## Step 5: Philippine embassy in Abu Dhabi: affidavit of support appointment Filipino families ask about this most. The Philippine Embassy is in Abu Dhabi, and the Philippine Consulate General is in Dubai. Philippine missions have their own affidavit of support document, guaranteeing the visitor's support, signed before a consular officer, usually by appointment. Book the appointment early and bring the documents in Step 2. We can check your details and prepare a covering sponsorship letter if the embassy asks for one. ## Step 6: Send it to the visitor Scan the signed affidavit and all attachments into one file, in the order the attachments list gives. Send the visitor both the scan and, if the authority wants originals, the original by courier. Keep a copy yourself. If the visitor is stopped and asked about their sponsor, you want to be able to answer quickly. Watch for ## Mistakes that send Abu Dhabi sponsors back to the start 01 The affidavit gives your office address instead of your home address in Abu Dhabi. 02 Your name on the affidavit follows your employment contract, not your passport. 03 The tenancy contract attached has expired, or is in the name of your spouse without explanation. 04 You signed the notarised affidavit when the embassy wanted its own form, or the other way round. 05 The dates of the visit changed after signing. Each of these can be fixed before signing. After signing, most of them mean a new affidavit. The notary's checks are about you and your signature, not your address, so where you sign is usually a practical choice. What matters more is whether the authority receiving the affidavit accepts it. The signing depends on the notary's or the embassy's next available appointment. ### Can two sponsors sign one affidavit? Yes, for example a married couple supporting a parent. Both are named, both sign, and each attaches their own ID. Where only one spouse earns, say so, and attach that spouse's income evidence. ### My visitor was asked for an affidavit at the airport. Can I make one after they arrive? The request usually comes before departure, from the visitor's home country.
